Seven Loaves and a Few Fish
"How many loaves do you have?" Matthew 15:34

In Matthew 15:29-37, Jesus is walking by the sea of Galilee, when he goes up on a mountain and sits down. While he is there, thousands of people come to him and he cures them of all types of ailments and deformities. When he realizes these people have been with him for three days and there is nothing to eat, he takes seven loaves of bread and a few fish , gives them to his disciples and has them feed four thousand people.
Many of us will be sitting down to not only one Christmas dinner this year, but two or three. There are however, so many people who are less fortunate and might only be sitting down to one full meal for the entire week. We may not be able to take seven loaves of bread and a few fish and feed four thousand people like Jesus did, but we can help to give meals to those in our area.
This year when you are out buying food for your Christmas dinner, buy a little

extra. Put the extra food you bought into separate bags and on your way home, stop by a local shelter or Christian Center and drop the extra food off. Imagine the impact this would have in the number of people we could help to have a joyful Christmas.
When you sit down to your Christmas meals, give thanks for the food He has provided for you and remember those that you have helped and those who may still be going without this Christmas season. Pray that they will continue to be well fed and those who have gone without will be provided with what they need.

Prayer
Our Father who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive those who trespass
against us;
and lead us not into tempation
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
